I am really excited to say that totally I got my acceptance letter from the University of Hawaii! I still have a lot to figure out about moving etc in time to get started in August but it feels great to have gotten accepted into the program.

Reading, Reading, Reading
This past week I had quite a bit of free time on my hands so picked up a few different books I have been wanting to read. I have to admit, none of the books were prize winners but I did really enjoy the relaxation that comes along with reading a great book. I finished up a few books that I had been reading simultaneously and then started a few new ones as well. Up next on my list are Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout and Honolulu by Alan Brennert. Both books look like they will be promising so I am excited to get through them.
Since I have been doing so much reading my crafting has been put on a little bit of a hold. I have a few apron requests and a few gifts to complete but otherwise crafting will probably be minimal this week.
In addition to all of my leisure activities, I am spending a lot of time planning a bridal shower for Jenny, Luke's fiance. I am really excited about the plans so far and can't wait to get back to the NW for their week of wedding fun and excitement.

Still Waiting
Man, if I thought I needed patience with the Navy - I was wrong! I need patience with the University of Hawaii. I am still waiting to hear back from them regarding acceptance into the graduate program that I applied for. I am anxious to hear back as that will sort of help me to make my plans for the rest of the summer and the big move. However, I am also considering deferment if that is an option available to me. I have a lot of things going on at once this summer/fall so I will see. Only time will tell.
In other news I am very excited for my upcoming visit back to Oregon/Washington - just 5 more weeks.
I want to send a big congratulations to Doug's cousin Kevin and fiance Danielle who were married in California today. Unfortunately, Doug and I couldn't attend but we are so excited for them and wish them the best.

Beatrice's Tote
It seems as though Beatrice need to take more with us than I do - so I made Beatrice her very own tote for all her treats, toys, vet information, water and any other thing it seems like we need to take when we leave the house. I am pretty excited about this and can't wait for my first chance to take Beatrice out with her personalized tote.
So excited!
I am so happy to say that a few of my aprons have been selling in the Dolphin Store here in Groton. It is really exciting to have people purchasing my items - now I just need to get on making more to sell those as well. I am going to post a few pictures of new aprons I have been making.
First Anniversary
Well - I am a bit behind with my blogging because we were out a computer monitor for a week or so. But, here I am again! Over the time that I was away from my blog Doug and I celebrated our first anniversary. This past year has been a whirlwind of adventure, moving, new friends, new places, and settling in to our new marriage. We have been to many new places and have really grown together as a couple of the past year. We are also growing as individuals which is equally important. We celebrated our anniversary with what felt like a week of events from dinner out, kayaking on the river, walks with Beatrice, and bike rides. Thank you to all of our lovely friends and family member who sent cards and congratulations.
