Really Great Video

I recently found this video through a friend.  This is of the North Carolina's Panama Canal transit.  Doug was topside at the time and told me it was very touching to have the tourists sing to them.  I was excited to see this video myself and wanted to share.

Another hat...

Well, I am taking on a new job or "putting on another hat."  This morning I was elected to be the Pearl Harbor SOSA (Submarine Officers' Spouses' Association) Secretary for the upcoming year.  I joined SOSA back in Groton last year and have gotten involved in the Dolphin Store as well as helping out with the scholarship auction this year.  I am excited to be taking on a bigger role over the next year.

Anniversary Date

Doug and I celebrated our anniversary a little bit early and had a lovely date night last weekend. We went to dinner at Haleiwa Joe's in Kaneohe. The food was very tasty! I had my favorite, prime rib, and Doug had the fish of the day, of which he said "might have been the best fish I have ever had, aside from salmon." The restaurant has gorgeous views of a little pond in front of the mountains and jungle.

Sewing Projects

Things have been crazy around here over the last few months but I have been able to fit some sewing time into my schedule. I am still selling aprons at the Dolphin Store on Pearl Harbor. Here arew a few of my most recent projects:

Spring is Here!

Well, other than slight variations, the weather here in Hawaii is pretty much constantly the same.  However, the season of spring is upon us and flowers are in full bloom.  My rose bush has taken off and is gorgeous!

The lovely weather and blooming plants in our backyard have enticed us to eat a lot of meals out on the lanai.  This past week Doug and I enjoyed cooking together and we made Shrimp Alfredo for dinner.  So delicious!
